The Future is Taking Shapes
At SIP PlanEx 2026, the spotlight turned to the next generation of thinkers and designers through the SIP Student Awards. Across Urban Planning, Urban Design, and Urban Research, students shared thoughtful ideas about the places we live in and the possibilities ahead.
This year was a special one for the awards. Previously presented as part of the SIP Planning Awards, they found a new home at PlanEx, where students could celebrate their work alongside practitioners and leaders from across the industry.
Congratulations to our award recipients! Your creativity, conviction and willingness to ask bold questions made your work a joy to discover. We were honoured to have Ms Yvonne Lim, Deputy CEO and Chief Planner of Urban Redevelopment Authority of Singapore (URA), join us to celebrate your achievements.
Our thanks also go to the judges (Teik Soon Looi, See-Nin Tan, Tang Hsiao Ling, Yu Zhou Li, Goh Wee Heng, Cathy Hang and Tram Tran) for their care and insight, and to every student who shared their work. Keep exploring, keep challenging assumptions, and keep imagining what our cities could be. We’re excited to see where your ideas take you next.
