The honour urban planners and the team for the various excellent planning projects or plans undertaken by urban planners and planning consultancy firms in Singapore and overseas.
The award is open to Singapore as well as international planning firms and firms of allied professionals. The inaugural launch of the SIP Planning Awards was made during the Spatial Planning Conference on 3 April 2008. As at 2025, SIP has held the 9th SIP Planning Awards and will invite participations for the 10th SIP Planning Awards in 2027. Look out for more details coming your way.
9th SIP Planning Awards & Gala Dinner 2025
On 24th September 2025, the Singapore Institute Of Planners has successfully hosted the 9th Singapore Planning Awards Presentation Ceremony and Gala Dinner. We were honoured to welcome Minister Chee Hong Tat, the Minister of National Development Singapore, Dr Liu Thai Ker and other distinguished guests along with delegates from the Hong Kong Institute of Planners (HKIP), and the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors, Planning & Development Division (HKIS – PDD), the planners from Vietnam and Indonesia. We also enjoyed insightful presentations by renowned interdisciplinary urban planner, Professor Herbert Dreiseitl and our valued sponsor Esri.
In 2025, we received a total of 114 submissions for Planning Projects from both local and international firms. An unprecedented number compared to past years. In addition, we have also received 7 submissions for the Young Planners. After extensive deliberation over July and August, the judges has have awarded 10 gold, 9 silver, 7 bronze and 17 special mention awards for the projects and recognised 2 Young Planners of the Year. We also marked two important milestones during the event. They are:
- The signing of a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) with the Shanghai Urban Planning Trade Association (SUPTA)
- The renewed MOUs with HKIS & HKIP
It was wonderful, enriching night and an evening dedicated to honouring outstanding achievements, fostering collaboration, and strengthening our planning community with both the local and overseas planning community.
