A milestone for our planners. A milestone for the planning profession.
On 19 September 2026, we celebrated the graduation of the 2nd Cohort of SICP Certified Planners, with 36 practising professional planners from across Singaporeโs public and private sectors receiving their certification.
The SICP Certified Planner accreditation represents the ๐ต๐ถ๐ด๐ต๐ฒ๐๐ ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ณ๐ฒ๐๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฑ๐ถ๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐ฟ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐ป ๐ฝ๐น๐ฎ๐ป๐ป๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ in Singapore, recognising planners who have demonstrated the professional experience, competency and commitment expected of the profession.
The occasion marked the culmination of a rigorous two-year certification programme (2024โ2026) and, more importantly, welcomed another cohort of professionals committed to shaping Singapore and cities beyond with thoughtfulness, responsibility and impact.
We were honoured to have Ms Adele Tan, CEO of Urban Redevelopment Authority of Singapore (URA), as Guest of Honour, alongside distinguished leaders from Singaporeโs planning and built environment community, including Ms Yvonne Lim, Chief Planner, URA; Mr Eng Hwee Lim, Senior Advisor, URA; Mr David Tan, DCEO, JTC Corporation; and Dr Chong Fook Loong, Group Director of Planning, Housing & Development Board, together with members of the SICP Accreditation Panel, assessors, trainers, SIP Council and industry leaders.
As Singapore and cities around the world navigate increasingly complex challenges – from climate resilience and demographic change to economic transformation and evolving ways of living – the role of professional planners has never been more important.
To our 2nd Cohort of SICP Certified Planners: Congratulations!!ย
May this milestone be the beginning of an even greater contribution to the profession, our cities and the communities we plan for.
