Event Synopsis

About the Talk

After years of rapid urbanization which is underpinned by economic growth and development of new cities, China today is facing a paradigm shift in development models that focus on improving the peoples’ quality of life. Addressing climate change, infrastructure renewal and emerging technologies are key to this transformation.

Dr Yang Baojun, President of China Academy of Urban Planning and Design, shares how urbanisation has presented new challenges and opportunities in this era of change, and his vision for the future of China’s urban development.

The plenary session will be followed by a panel discussion, joined by representatives of URA and Surbana Jurong, who will share perspectives in their areas of specialisation.
