Event Synopsis
Description
This course aims to provide an in-depth understanding of the Singapore land use planning system and how it has been instrumental to the success of Singapore‘s urban development over the last 4 decades. It identifies planning strategies to address a city’s needs. It covers a range of topics on urban planning, urban design and conservation, as well as the tools that Singapore uses to translate its plans into reality.
The modules will be conducted by our management, senior planners and architects, as well as planners from partner agencies, such as Singapore’s Land Transport Authority and the National Parks Board.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
1) Understand how an integrated approach to land use planning can transform a city.
2) Identify planning strategies that address the needs of a city.
3) Learn about the tools which could transform ideas and plans into reality.
The course is held 2 times a year and was attended by policy makers, government officials and professionals locally, and from different countries including Qatar, UAE, Brunei, China, Vietnam, Maldives, Russia, and Mauritius. The course will also serve as a good platform for participants to network.
