Job Description
An Urban Planner develops and implements plans and policies that guide land use, infrastructure, and community development to create sustainable, inclusive, and well-designed urban environments. Working closely with public agencies, consultants, and communities, the role balances social, environmental, and economic considerations to support long-term urban growth and liveability.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review development plans, land-use strategies, and planning proposals
- Assess planning applications against statutory and policy requirement
- Conduct research and analysis on urban trends, demographics, and spatial data
- Engage stakeholders, agencies, and the public in the planning process
- Contribute to policies promoting sustainability, resilience, and inclusive development
