UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed, 2026 Sustainability challenges are global, yet action is increasingly local. As the Sustainable Development Goals and sustainability certification frameworks increasingly converge on communities and places, a fundamental question emerges: can sustainability be meaningfully localised, and if so, at what scale should it be measured, governed and improved?
